Update the software of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (T807A)

AT&T has finally started distributing the Android 6.0.1 update for the first-generation Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

Software update includes

• Android OS 6.0 (Marshmallow)
• Android device security updates
• NumberSync functionality:
  • NumberSync gives you the freedom to use your tablet to make and receive voice and video calls.
  • Uses your existing mobile number.
  • Works even if your smartphone isn’t with you.

 

Instructions :

To update the software

1. Make sure your device is sufficiently charged and connected to Wi-Fi.
2. From the home screen, tap Settings.
3. Tap the General tab.
4. Tap About device > Software update > Check for updates.
5. Follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update.
6. The device automatically restarts once the new software successfully installs.

To verify the update

1. From the home screen, tap Settings > General > About device.
2. The device has the latest software if the Baseband version and Build number matches the current update details:
   • Android Version: 6.0.1
   • Security Patch Level (SPL): September 1, 2016
   • Baseband Version: T807AUCU1CPI8
   • Kernel Version: 3.4.39-9294073 dpi@SWDD6222 #1 Wed Sept 21 16:22:26 KST 2016
