The update applies to the Q6FN, Q7FN, Q8FN and Q9FN QLED models, as well as the NU8000. If you use any of these for gaming, your gaming experience will be much smoother.

Chances are, if you’re playing games on your TV, it is most likely connected to a console –  PlayStation 4 or the Xbox One. Since both of the use AMD Graphics, the new Samsung TVs will get a firmware update, in which this feature is enabled.

However, right now, only the Xbox One X and Xbox One S support this technology. Basically, what this does, is it helps with frame syncing – it reduces screan tearing and stuttering. However, this does come at a slight price. You will be limited to only 1080p, and might have some issues with brightness. You can toggle this feature in your TV’s game mode settings.
