Android TV is coming back!

A TV stick/dongle is was recently spotted at FCC. The dongle is made by Shenzhen SEI Robotics Co., Ltd, a company which already produces a handful of Android TV devices. Note the big G on the middle. It looks like Google will be selling the dongle.

The specs are pretty decent! It has Android Oreo pre-installed, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1. It will be powered by an Amilogic S905X, paired with 2 GB of RAM. This would indicate that the cost will be relatively low, but still provide a pretty decent experience. It also connects directly over the built-in HDMI cable (which looks just like a Chromecast) and has a microUSB connection for power.

All this combined, and assuming a low price (from 70 to 100 USD), the Android TV dongle could be a really good deal.
