After being in preview/beta for a while, the new Gmail interface will roll out to everyone in July.
Gmail did not change the interface for a very long time. I mean, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And while the Gmail interface is still OK and works very well, a refresh is welcome.
According to the G Suit Updates Blog, the new update will be “for everyone” in July. Right now, you can try it out for yourself, in the settings. When it arrives, you will have some time to try it out. Eight weeks after the official announcement/release, you will be migrated to the new Gmail UI, but you will still have the option to opt out. However, if you wait four more weeks, you will be migrated to the new UI, like it or not. And you will not have the option to get back to the old UI.
